Our take

How to pick a light show in Dallas–Fort Worth

Holiday lights around Dallas–Fort Worth are spread across the whole metroplex. In Dallas the main draw is the Arboretum on White Rock Lake. Fort Worth has its Botanic Garden. Arlington has Six Flags, Grand Prairie has the Prairie Lights drive-thru, and Grapevine has ICE! indoors. Start with the show closest to you, because crossing the metroplex on a December evening can take longer than the visit itself.

Prices vary a lot

The range here is wide. Vitruvian Lights in Addison is free, and the Trail of Lights at Kadee Farm is $10. The garden trails cost about $20 to $40 an adult depending on the night. Six Flags is $69, and Prairie Lights charges $50 a car whatever the number of passengers. For a family of five, the drive-thru is often the cheapest of the paid shows.

Ways to save

At the Arboretum, the Night Owl slot from 8:30 pm costs $15 instead of $35–$40, and five holiday nights cost $12. At Fort Worth Botanic Garden, buying in advance saves $5 a ticket, and parking is paid separately and cashless. At Six Flags, the $69 Silver Pass costs the same as a day ticket but covers unlimited visits and parking through 2027.

Dallas Zoo Lights had not announced its 2026 dates when we checked. For all nine shows side by side, read our guide to Christmas lights in Dallas–Fort Worth.
