Our take

Holiday markets in Dallas–Fort Worth, from November to Christmas

Holiday market season in Dallas–Fort Worth starts early. The two big charity gift markets happen before Thanksgiving: 'Neath the Wreath in Plano on November 12–15 and the Chi Omega Christmas Market in Dallas on November 19–22. Both are big indoor charity markets (Chi Omega alone brings more than 200 merchants). They suit people who like to finish their gift list in November.

Outdoor Christmas markets

For an outdoor Christmas market rather than a convention hall, there are two long-running options: the German-style Texas Christkindl Market at Globe Life Field in Arlington and the Grapevine Christmas Market both open in late November and run until just before Christmas, and entry is free. Over Thanksgiving weekend, Home for the Holidays fills McKinney's historic square with a marketplace, a Ferris wheel and the town tree lighting. It is free too, and it runs free shuttles.

Small local markets in December

December brings one-day markets with local makers in Plano, Dallas and Fort Worth. They are smaller, often free and good for one-of-a-kind gifts. Their dates come from event listings rather than the organizers, so we mark them as tentative until they are confirmed. Check back closer to the date, or contact the venue before you go.
