One-night holiday street party in downtown New Braunfels: wassail, lights, food vendors and late shopping. Thu, Dec 3, 2026, 6–9 pm.
Wassailfest is downtown New Braunfels's Christmas evening. For three hours the streets around Main Plaza are decorated and lit, there is music, and the shops stay open late with holiday specials. The name comes from wassail, a hot spiced cider, and sampling it as you walk from shop to shop is the point of the night.
In 2026 it is on Thursday, December 3, from 6 to 9 pm. Food vendors set up downtown, and it draws a big local crowd of all ages.
It is more of a shopping stroll than a market with stalls, so it suits an evening out with friends or older kids. Pair it with the Weihnachtsmarkt or Gruene Market Days if you want a weekend of New Braunfels's holiday events.
