Family-run tree farm in Crowley, south of Fort Worth: cut your own Blue Ice or Carolina Sapphire, or pick a pre-cut or flocked Fraser fir. Free entry and parking.
Haynie's has been selling Christmas trees on Shannon Valley Drive in Crowley, about 20 minutes south of downtown Fort Worth, since 1978. In the field you can cut a Texas-grown Blue Ice or Carolina Sapphire with one of the farm's saws. If you'd rather not cut, there are pre-cut Fraser firs from up north and flocked firs in white and in colors such as pink, purple and blue.
Entry and parking are free, and so are the extras most farms charge for: shaking, netting and twine, weekend hayrides, tree swings and picnic tables. Roasting marshmallows and the mini train cost a little extra. Leashed dogs are welcome.
Pre-cut firs started at $124.99 for 6 to 8 feet on the farm's price list, and tabletop trees at $49.99. All sales are final, so measure your ceiling before you go.
