Bois D'Arc is a rural tree farm in Fannin County, near the town of Telephone and the Oklahoma line, about an hour and a half northeast of Dallas. It is a long drive, but it is one of the few farms in the region that posts its prices: every cut tree is tagged individually, from $120 to $400 with tax included, for trees from 4 to over 14 feet.
The price includes baling and help tying the tree to your car, and there is hot cocoa. Kids can see the farm's Texas Longhorns, and the Christmas shop sells decorations, gifts and homemade baked goods. New this year are 3-gallon potted loblolly pines for $50 that you can plant after the holidays. Military members and first responders get 10% off with ID.
The farm is open Friday to Sunday only, from November 27 to December 13. After that, visits are by appointment.
