Holiday vendors, cookie decorating, a petting zoo and Santa on Main Street in downtown Bastrop, Sat, Dec 12, 2026, 10 am–3 pm.
Merry on Main is Bastrop's downtown Christmas day. Main Street fills with holiday vendors and food, and there's a lot for children: cookie decorating, a downtown cookie crawl, face painting, inflatables, a petting zoo and a visit from Santa. The historic downtown's own shops and galleries are open as well.
It's held on the second Saturday of December, which in 2026 is December 12, from 10 am to 3 pm. In the evening, the town's Lost Pines Christmas Parade comes down Main Street, with Santa riding on a Bastrop fire truck at the end.
Bastrop is about 35 minutes east of Austin on TX-71. Stay until dark and you can walk the free River of Lights along the Colorado River, a block from Main Street.
