Downtown Geneva's Christmas evening with Santa Lucia, Santa Claus, the Great Tree lighting, carolers and late shopping, Fri, Dec 4, 2026, from 6 pm.
Geneva, a Fox River town in the western suburbs with Swedish roots, opens its Christmas season with an evening walk through the decorated downtown. Santa Lucia lights the Great Tree on the courthouse lawn, Santa Claus arrives, and the streets have carolers, roasted chestnuts, a live nativity and special offers in the shops.
In 2026 the Christmas Walk is on Friday, December 4, starting at 6 pm, with Santa's arrival and the tree lighting between 6 and 6:30 pm. The courthouse lawn stays lit for the season, with a North Pole post office for children's letters.
Visits with Santa go on sale in early November. Geneva also runs a Holiday House Tour; see the chamber's site for details.
