Austin's long-running art market and music festival at the Palmer Events Center, Dec 12–21, 2026: about 200 artists and live bands daily. $15; kids 12 and under free.
The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar has been part of Austin's December since 1976. It takes its name from the Armadillo World Headquarters, the 1970s music hall where it began. Today it fills the Palmer Events Center with about 200 artists selling fine art and one-of-a-kind gifts, and up to three live bands play every day on its stage.
In 2026 it runs for ten days, from Saturday, December 12 to Monday, December 21. It's open 11 am to 8 pm on most days, and until 9:30 pm on December 12, 18, 19 and 20. A regular ticket is $15 plus tax and is good for any one day, with same-day re-entry. Children 12 and under don't need a ticket. A VIP First Look ticket ($25) lets you in an hour early on opening day, from 10 am.
The organizers describe the weekdays as calmer, with fewer crowds and more time to talk to the artists. Parking at the Palmer Events Center is $12 a car, and there's a drop-off circle at the front entrance for strollers and wheelchairs.
