Choose-and-cut Virginia pines and pre-cut Fraser firs in Manvel, south of Houston. Free entry; the saw, shaking and tying are included.
Holiday Acres is a family-run farm on Mustang Bayou Road in Manvel, about 25 miles south of downtown Houston. You walk the rows of Virginia pine, the Texas-grown tree, and cut your own; the farm hands you a saw and then shakes, bales and ties the tree to your car as part of the price. If you would rather not cut, there are pre-cut Fraser firs from North Carolina and Michigan, freshly trimmed and kept in water.
Entry is free. Buying a tree comes with a hayride, hot cocoa or mulled cider, a campfire and a natural play area for the kids. Tree stands and Fraser fir wreaths are sold in the barn. One rule to know: trees under 5 feet are off limits, so the young ones can grow for next year.
The 2026 tree prices were not posted when we checked (all sizes say "TBD"); call 281-317-0586 if you need a number before you drive. The farm also books family photo sessions, so you may see photographers on days when tree sales are closed. There is no cypress this year: the farm has closed those fields for 2026.
